Paws for Tales
Belmont Library, Belmont
5yr–12yr
Do you have an enthusiastic, or reluctant, reader? Then consider signing your child up for the delightful experience of reading to a therapy dog at the library! Studies show that children who may feel reluctant to read in front of their peers, are much less anxious with an animal present as they don't perceive them, as judgmental - so they often become much more comfortable reading, in general - once participating in this program. And even children who are not yet reading, themselves, can still enjoy the evening, as families are welcome to sit down together, to share in a book with these dogs. We also have on tap, a seasonal crafting activity for all ages & generations, to take part in -- and connect over.
